As we begin this week celebrating our heroes – our teachers – I would like to extend my gratitude to each of you for what you do each day. . . you teach, you assess learning, you become counselors and mentors and incredible listeners; you provide a safe place for kids to express themselves and learn to succeed in spite of their circumstances. As teachers you are investigators and problems solvers; you are mediators and resolution seekers. Each day you are the person who inspires our young people – you are their connections to their futures – you are their partners in seeing their dreams come alive. Your imprint on the lives of your students is immeasurable, it is often intangible and it is always invaluable.
