Both of these graduates have worked hard all four years and received top marks and high honors. Read more about them below.

Valedictorian Josselyn Gualpa Molina:
Josselyn Gualpa is a current graduating senior for the class of 2021. During high school she is involved in many sports and extracurriculars, such as debate, tennis, badminton, and band amongst others. Josselyn has passed the following AP tests: AP Human Geography, AP Modern World History, AP Chemistry, AP United States History, and AP Spanish Language and Culture. Her weighted GPA is 4.49 and she will be attending the University of California in Los Angeles, with a major in Bioengineering. After graduating from college, she will go on to Medical School to become a cardiovascular surgeon.

Salutatorian Paula Sontay Vicente:
Paula Elisa Sontay Vicente is current senior and 2021 salutatorian of Bassett High School. She of Guatemalan descent, and is the 2nd of three children in her family. She is the first in my family to attend college, and she will be attending Cal State Fullerton. Throughout the 4 years at Bassett High, Paula has been involved in many sports and clubs which include Varsity Tennis, Badminton, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Interact Club (she is Secretary), National Honors Society, Tri-M Music Honors Society, and Business Academy (where she is Vice President). Paula was also a link crew leader for 2 years. She also completed several Honors and AP classes throughout high school. Time has passed fast and she's excited to move on to the next chapter, but also sad that she didn't get to enjoy as much of my senior year, but she did the best she could to make it better. Paula is happy to have attended Bassett because it created many opportunities for her and had many fun experiences and moments along the way.
