Welcome to the 2024 Bassett Unified School District Fall Parent Academy webpage! This event is designed to empower parents and caregivers with the resources and tools to support their children’s academic, social, and emotional growth. Join us on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Torch Middle School, for a day filled with workshops, student performances, and valuable community resources.
Event Highlights:
- Student Performances throughout the day
- Free Breakfast and Lunch for all attendees
- No registration is required – just show up and participate!

Event Schedule:
Breakfast: 8:00 AM – 8:30 AM
Location: Watanabe Center
Enjoy a light breakfast to start the day, which is provided for all attendees.
Superintendent Welcome and Performances: 8:30 AM – 8:45 AM
Kick off the day with opening remarks from our Superintendent, followed by student performances showcasing the talents of our district’s students.
Break and Student Performances: 8:45 AM – 9:00 AM
Location: Pavement (Vendor Tables/Displays)
Visit the vendor tables or enjoy more student performances before heading into your first workshop.
Workshop Sessions: 9:00 AM – 11:05 AM
Location: Various locations across the campus
Workshops will cover topics including mental health awareness, parenting in a digital world, college and career readiness, financial literacy, and more. View the full workshop schedule HERE
Lunch and Performances: 11:05 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: Watanabe Center
Lunch will be provided for all attendees while enjoying student performances.
Keynote Speaker: 12:00 PM – 12:40 PM
Listen to our keynote speaker address important topics related to family engagement, education, and community building.
Closing and Final Performances: 12:40 PM – 1:00 PM
End the day with closing remarks and one last student performance.
Vendor and Information Booths:
Throughout the day, visit our vendor tables to connect with community organizations offering valuable resources and services, including:
- Mental Health Services
- Financial Planning
- Educational Resources
- Family Support Programs
Additional Information:
- Free Gifts and Supplies: Families will receive free supplies and gifts.
- Raffles: Attendees will have the opportunity to win prizes during our raffles.
- Childcare: Childcare will be provided throughout the event.
