At Bassett Unified School District, we are committed to ensuring that our students, families, and community members have access to important resources that protect their rights. The "Know Your Rights" Red Card provides essential information on how individuals can exercise their constitutional rights in interactions with immigration enforcement.
These cards are available at each school’s main office for those who need them. They serve as a valuable tool to help individuals understand their rights under the Fourth and Fifth Amendments of the U.S. Constitution, ensuring they can respond appropriately in sensitive situations.
How to Use the Red Card:
- If approached by immigration enforcement, the card can be presented without speaking.
- It states key rights, including the right to remain silent and the right to refuse a search without a warrant.
- The card is available in both English and Spanish.
How to Get a Red Card:
📍 Visit your school’s main office to pick up a Red Card.
